Posted by Today’s ghost story brings us back to another time. Although the spirit witnessed appeared to be a good one, she nonetheless shook the very foundation of the author’s previous beliefs.

4. Okay… now tell us your story…
So paranormal story. My husband grew up in a house built in the late 1700s that was located in a very prominent Civil War battle area. You can frequently hear footsteps, see shadows, things will fall randomly, etc. One night while we were visiting his parents at this house, I woke up randomly in the middle of the night and saw a woman in a beautiful civil war era dress with her hair pinned up perfectly going across the room.
I felt overwhelmingly calm and I just laid there and watched her trying to figure out if I was dreaming or not. She went straight across the bed to my husband’s side (he was facing away from me,) bent down, and put her hand on his face very lovingly, almost as if she was welcoming him home. Then she looked back up and faded away.
When she was totally gone, that calm feeling went with her lol and I began to panic a bit. But then my husband asked “why are you touching my face” while I’m still frozen on the other side of the bed. I then started hitting him to get up, telling him I need the light turned on asap lol. Both of our phones were plugged in charging all night but the batteries were both completely drained. I told my husband what happened and he was not surprised at all. 😂
We brought it up to his parents later on, who then showed us a photo of the owners of the house back from that Civil War era, a husband and wife. The second I saw the photo, I knew it was her. Hands down the weirdest experience ever.
5. Would you say this experience changed your life? If so, how so?
Definitely changed my life a bit – lol – I was always a skeptic of the paranormal, but I can’t even begin to explain this one.
6. Would you want to have the experience again?
I wouldn’t mind the experience again honestly. She radiated a sense of calmness and I felt safe. Until she left lol
