Well, fancy that! And Fancy Matt. For he’s the one who’s finally won Michelle’s complete heart. Sure, it was love at first sight, you might say, but it’s interesting that they only got engaged AFTER Matt started playing Tiki Solitaire TriPeaks. Okay, that part might not be true (but it MIGHT BE!). Still a very fun-filled Spotlight for your enjoyment…
1. What is your name?
Michelle
2. What is the name of your love?
Matt, my fiancé, but I call him my Fancy.
3. Did you meet your “Fancy” in Solitaire TriPeaks or are you both players and share both your love and your love for Solitaire TriPeaks?
I started playing almost exactly one year ago after I needed to take time off from work. I am a nurse, and I was working 16 and 18 hour shifts every day with no days off for two years straight, throughout the pandemic. I don’t remember how I came across the game, but Solitaire TriPeaks was a huge part of my recovery. The game was a distraction from the pain I was experiencing in my body, and the friends I made on my forever team AllStar Ninjas (the best legend league Club in my opinion) have always been there to support me.
4. I have it on good authority that everyone in that Club feels that way. How did you meet?
At a beach bonfire. Initially he ignored me when I went up to talk to him, I saw he could solve a Rubik’s cube in under 60 seconds. I kept asking him questions, but… crickets. That night I was completely wrapped in a blanket, my hair was in braids, and I had no makeup on… he thought I was only 16 years old!
5. Hilarious! What’s your favorite thing about your sweetie? And your sweetie’s favorite
thing about you?
My favorite thing about my fancy is he is the first man I’ve been with who also takes care of me. Not just me taking care of him. As a nurse, I’m always taking care of other people, and historically I’ve always been independent and never had to rely on anyone else. Matt is the first person who is like, “Hey, slow down.”
My favorite thing about my fancy? The simplest things, he makes me coffee, and heats up the creamer, so the coffee doesn’t get cold. He always gives me a hug, then kisses me goodbye or goodnight.
Matt: My favorite thing about Meesha (Michelle) is she pushes me to better myself in all aspects of life, so we can exceed even our own expectations. Meesha is an advocate, she will stand up for a stranger if she thinks they’re in need. Even though Meesha isn’t fully able to work right now because of her health, she’s using this time to get her Doctorate as a Nurse Practitioner. She doesn’t waste any opportunity to expand her skills, I really love how she wants to create change.
6. Besides Solitaire TriPeaks, what are some things you enjoy doing together?
We love spending time with our 8 year old daughter. Matt majored in Physics, and I majored in Biopsychology as well as Biochemistry and molecular cell biology, so we do a lot of experiments with her.
7. As long as it’s “with” and not “on.” Are you both in the same Club? If so, which one?
So… Matt has been watching me play for a full year. FINALLY, he started playing on Sunday, February 5, 2023 (I’m memorializing the day – lol – it’s about time) 10 minutes in, he started to exhibit early signs of Solitaire TriPeaks game addiction… Bwahahaha!!!! He joined a Rookie Club where half the players were idle for 70 plus days (facepalm) I told him to just advance levels.
The very next day, we were sitting together in the living room, and he said, “I’m on a Diamond Team now!” Well, my Fancy got himself invited to Diamond League PERKolated on his 2nd day! It took me a month on Gold to get to Legend! I then spent the rest of the evening playing the game on my team, and still trying to teach him, so he wouldn’t get booted off his team. The first question he asked me was, “What does maxed mean?” So cute. I remember those days. Where did the time go?
I’m in the Legend League AllStar Ninjas, which I consider my forever team. My Ninja Family are the most amazing people, who have been there for me when I needed them, even from across the world. I was on a few Legend teams before I found my Ninjas, sometimes it takes a few tries to find your people.
8. Be honest – who’s a better player?
Well me, duh.
9. Oh, yeah… I guess that’d be the case. What’s the best piece of advice you have for keeping a relationship alive?
Goofiness and laughter. In any relationship, best friends, couples, communication is key. Matt and I can talk about the zombie apocalypse, religion, politics, how I think Marvel is better than DC comics because Superman and Batman wear their underwear on the outside, we can talk about anything. Most important though, we are also able to sit comfortably in silence, without having to fill the stillness.
10. Do you have any final thoughts you’d like to share with the Solitaire TriPeaks community?
Don’t let the game come between the friends you have made. In the end, it’s just a game. As players advance and improve, people will move on to other clubs. That doesn’t mean they have to move on from you. It’s just a game, it’s not that serious. Life and relationships (including your game friends) come first!
